Barcelona is Spain's second largest city and one of the most popular
tourist destinations in the European Union. The city has a
metropolitan population of over 5 million inhabitants and is well known for its
contemporary architecture and for the beautiful buildings designed by the Spanish
architect Antoni Gaudí.
